Blast From The Past: Shot In The Head

 


On April 14, 1865, U.S. President Abraham Lincoln was shot at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C., by John Wilkes Booth, a Confederate sympathizer. The attack occurred just days after the Civil War effectively ended. Lincoln died the following morning on April 15, 1865, making him the first U.S. president assassinated in office.
