Blast From The Past: New York Times

Times Square was originally known as Longacre Square until 1904, named after London's carriage district, before being renamed for The New York Times headquarters.

April 8, 1904, when The New York Times moved its headquarters to the newly built Times Building (now One Times Square). This change marked a transition from a horse-drawn carriage industry hub into a modern, iconic entertainment district.
