Humour in Uniform: Interesting Reads

The first ever humor in uniform known to me so far is David and Goliath. The theme of the war was  Power Struggle. David to prove his point with a claim of God on his side takes down Goliath with a few pebbles. It is dark comedy in a way. After years preparing for a stand off one being taken down so easily will make anyone cry.

Well the current scenario unfortunately resonates like this in a way. Like it or not it is Dark Humor and so true.

Diplomacy: The art of letting someone else have your way.

Foxhole means a hole in the ground used by troops as a shelter against enemy fire or as a firing point. It is unfortunately something that you never share with some one braver than you.

Military Intelligence: A contradiction in terms.

Patriotism: Your conviction that your country is superior to all others because you were born in it.

Peace: In international affairs a period of cheating between two periods of fighting.

War: Gods way of teaching us Geography.

World of Medicine Research - Interesting Reads

The Upside of a little butter: Meta-analysis of 9 studies from 15 countries found that a modest daily amount of butter was associated with a four percent decrease in Diabetes risk. The same amount of butter does not seem to increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke. Moderation is a good strategy when it comes to hgh fat food such as butter.

Antioxidants don't work. Well i have seen few people who take Vitamin  C supplements as antioxidants. Many i have seen believe that daily supplementation works.

Recommendations for vitamin C intake have been set by various national agencies 40 milligrams per day or 280 milligrams per week taken all at once: the United Kingdom's Food Standards Agency[1]

Vitamin C was also the first compound to ever undergo a clinical trial and was used to treat Scurvy.

British Journal of Pharmacology:

Well British Journal of Pharmacology has got something new to say. They reinforced an emerging explanation for why Vitamin E , C and other antioxidants supplement disease dont prevent disease and may sometimes even cause harm. Oxygen free radicals that anti oxidant molecules neutralise are not all bad. Altough they can trigger disease they are essential for the immune defense and hormone system. Getting a surplus from supplement risk interferes with helpful free radicals. The amount of antioxidant in a healthy diet appears beneficial.

Vitamin E too ways is proven to not have any effects on preventing heart disease and now comes along Vitamin C and other antioxidants.

Coffee does prevent cancer unless it is too hot.

Coffee was stripped of its possible carcinogenic classification by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Altough any beverage warmer than 65 degree/scalding hot liquids can injure cells in esophagus contributing oesophageal cancer down the road. Coffee served at moderate temperature appears to have mild protective effects against cancer.

Lift more, Use lighter weight for strength:

Journal of Applied Physiology from the recently concluded Canadian study found that lifting light objects many times works just as well as lifting heavier ones fewer times. Key is to work the muscles until they are fatigued which is a sign of activated fibers. Low load high repetition training is already a method of choice.

Happy research; There is no substitute for face to face interaction when it comes to fighting depression. Social media does not work. Adding fruits and vegetables in ones diet can make a person happy concluded the Australian study with 12,000 people.

The sad part of Happy research is One cannot control behaviour with psychology or health placebo/remedies. Good Psychology beats Bad behavior is a myth.

If one wants to wrestle the pig it is going to get dirty. One should avoid getting dirty while wrestling the pig is a tough thing to do.

Hang over cure: Dutch and Canadian study found that using water to cure hangover symptoms dont work.

Multiple Sclerosis Research:

More than 100,000 people are diagnosed with MS in the UK around one-in-five are progressive. MS is caused by a rogue immune system mistaking part of the brain for a hostile invader and attacking it.

A drug that alters the immune system has been described as "big news" and a "landmark" in treating multiple sclerosis, doctors and charities say.Trials, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, suggest the drug can slow damage to the brain in two forms of MS.
'Change treatment'
Ocrelizumab is the first drug shown to work in the primary progressive form of the disease. The drug is being reviewed for use in the US and Europe. The drug is being considered by the European Medicines Agency and the US Food and Drug Administration.

Ocrelizumab kills a part of the immune system - called B cells - which are involved in the assault on the myelin sheath. In 732 patients with progressive MS, the percentage of patients that had deteriorated fell from 39% without treatment to 33% with Ocrelizumab Patients taking the drug also scored better on the time needed to walk 25 feet and had less brain loss detected on scans. In 1,656 patients with relapsing remitting, the relapse rate with ocrelizumab was half that of using another drug.

Interesting Reads - The Y Chromosome and Stereotypes

Like it or not Blame the Y chromosome when it comes to being stereotyped. I still remember the scene from  a American TV series My name is Earl. He was eagerly awaiting the birth of his children and was unaware of tragedy that is going to befall him. To his surprise he sees a black kid coming from his White wife. He then eventually realizes that he was being cuckolded by his black friend. For some reason i don't know i love the word CUCKOLDED. Like it or not Karma is a Bitch is what the series was about. Karma follows you and gets you. I see the same thing when it comes to being stereotyped because of ones Y chromosome. Karma of anothers Y chromosome also follows you.

Ones father takes total responsibility if his offspring turns out to be a male. Y sex chromosome makes you a male and one inherits specific male characteristic from his father.  The Y chromosome possesses the H-Y antigen which is responsible for the development of Testes. Testes produces hormones responsible for masculinising effects.

I feel that Y chromosome is also responsible for a mans behavior in this male dominated world. Man is a trained monkey and inherits values from his parents. There is nothing more one can say about it. I saw the recent movie TARZAN played by the Swede Alexander Skarsgard. Like it or not a blue eyed Nord too will behave like a monkey if he lives with them. TARZAN - Wonderboy should take total credit only because of his environment. If he can jump like a monkey is because the other monkeys around him taught him how to jump. Upbringing of any human being is directly proportional to environment he is bought up in. Another movie Tropic Thunder talks about a bunch of Eastern Dacoits. A child in it too which Ben Stiller likes is a Dacoit as his parents are one. Orange is the New Black is a good show if one needs to learn of Stereotypes. 300 is another movie too. Good upbringing and training can make you a warrior. Like it or not at the end of the day all have to fight for their survival.

In a way this famous line says it all. When in Rome do as the Romans do. The article i was going through talks about stereotypes in different parts of the world. One cannot really come out to of the Stereotype Tag associated with nationality, religion or a individual state of a nation. A couple of individual nations were dealt with in this article.

England: Men and Women in this country love to queue up for the simplest of things and in the worst of times. Be it groceries, post office, bus stops, accident sites. English cannot tolerate queue jumping. English also like to have their own space and not be interfered in their personal lives.

Finland: Finns like spending time in their Saunas. They love the idea of Sauna and have it all over their  country. They like it so much to a point that many have a sauna in ones own residence. On the note of Sauna  many dont like hot air in public life. Finns dont like the idea of small talk and talk only when necessary. One should not be surprised if ones conversation are punched by lengthy silences. They also refrain from hugging and kissing.

France: French love the formal form of address and greeting. Greeting often accompanies cheek kissing. For me personally if in France i would prefer the French kiss, One big sloppy smackaroo.

Germany: Industrious/Orderly/Disciplined/Punctuality are the notable virtues of a German. German definition is made up of these words. They have a catchy line too that they themselves remind them of  who they are Funf Minuten Vor Der Zeit ist des Deutschen Pünktlichkeit (In Germany being punctual means being five minutes early).

Italy: Dining with the Italians is not which one may assume in spite of one going to many Italian restaurants. First course (Primo) hs to be the Pasta dish followed by the main course which includes meat and fish. The total bill in a restaurant is divided with the number of people in it and not the individual orders

Polish; Polish men are Gentlemen. They are brought up from an early age to be compliant and courteous towards women.

Spain: Men like to create a racket. They talk loudly and like it. Many do it deliberately. Few blame Christopher Columbus for it. Christopher Columbus spotted the new word and yelled Tierra.  Tierra means new world in Spanish. I like it when one remember their forefathers for who they are Christopher Columbus

Brazil: Men are often spotted to be fresh showered ad well dressed. They like their aftershave and perfume.

Mexico: They have a lot of personality traits like a Indian. It is unusual for them to be on time. One should make sure to turn half an hour later.

USA: Americans like to chat/small talk and like a good anecdote that they can tell to their friends. Altough one should not to do that in elevators and make eye contact with any.

Australia: Men prefer being outdoors and love their barbecue. They dont prefer formal greetings. They start a line with Mate and end it with it.

Chinese: They love to show their appreciation to their food. One does not like disregard the cuisine they have.

Japan: Need for cleanliness and hygiene is at the very core of national identity. Few like having slippers for every room and even in their toilets. No common slippers are ever used indoors.

Thailand: Thais believe that one should never loose self control. Showing signs of anger is a taboo. Many prefer a smile on their lips.

Talking about Stereotypes it is funny that Birth of a Jew unites many and bring people together in celebrating Christmas. Rudolph the red nose reindeer too has a lot of its individual personality trait that separates him from other species of deers.

Traits of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

1. Reindeers have the widest feet of any deer.

2. Reindeers are the only mammal that can see UV light.

3. New born reindeers can outrun an Olympic Sprinter. They walk immediately and can run after 90 minutes of their birth. I have heard of horse racing but there is a thing called reindeer racing which is a sport in Scandinavia.

4. Reindeers of both sexes can grow Antlers. Altough males loose their antlers at the end of their mating season.

5. New study also points that Reindeers may have a significant part in slowing down Climate change.

With this i would like to conclude by quoting views of Shashi Tharoor

"If you dont know where you came from, how do you know where you are going."

Interesting Reads; Heimlich maneuver

Some secretly desire their enemies/assholes to choke on their food/vomit. Many should have felt that atleast once in their lives. As far as i am concerned, i strongly believe that such a thing can happen and one should never think of such a thing. This can have deleterious effects in ones own life. I have had mild experiences of getting choked with food but nothing unreasonable. Seeing things from where i am coming i can understand the plight of any given person choking on his own food. Sounds scary when it comes to choking on food but such a phenomenon is out there and many never know how such a thing happens. I feel that it is important to concentrate while eating just like driving. Talking while eating can cause it or precipitate it. I try but at times it is not possible and i should concentrate while eating. One being in his pink of health can loose everything in a matter of seconds.

There was a time in medicine where if one choked on his food and dies it was then considered to be a  heart attack. One should thank heavens/God to give Henry Heimlich the insight to investigate this growing phenomenon which was predominantly seen in restaurants. I think if it was death in restaurants  that made him tick. Hence i feel that one should not talk while eating and concentrate on his bolus. Thanks to Henry Heimlich his maneuver has saved thousands of lives. I should really respect this man to look into and investigate this phenomenon. Yesterday 18/12/2016 this great man passed away leaving behind wealth of information for mankind to cherish.

First recorded save with the use of Heimlich maneuver by a non medical person was in Washington who came to a neighbors rescue after reading a story about it. Reading and gaining information thus help. Thus the saying "A Wise man has many friends a rich man enemies".

Ronald Reagan is among the famous who was saved by this maneuver. He was saved by his aide during his presidential campaign in 1972.

Heimlich came up with the maneuver during that time and it took 10 years to gain recognition in the medical community. Heimlich received a Lasker award by 1984 for his work. His anti choking technique was officially accepted by the Red Cross in 1996. This technique can also be used to clear mucous from lungs.

Origins of Heimlich maneuver

Popular Wisdom: Repeated slapping of the back of persons struggling with choking was often used to clear choking/obstruction to the passage of lungs. Heimlich believed that back slaps could forward the blockage together,

Heimlich Experiment: To prove his technique - He took anesthetized dogs blocked their windpipe with hunks of meat attached to strings in case of emergency. By doing this he figured out the current application which we all use today. Rescuer must stand behind the choking victim, Apply the thumb side of a fist to a spot just under the diaphragm and between the lungs. By pushing sharply on the spot a surge of air from the lungs would expel the blockage.

One who had to go through the process of choking should most importantly thank Heimlich for saving his life. A technique requiring no equipment/strength and minimal training has changed lives.

From my end a big thank you to Heimlich for coming up with something and RIP.

Befikre, Deep Water Horizon

So i watch these 2 movies and both of them in a way share a common theme. One has love in it and the another has work. They usually  say not to bring your home to work or work to home. Both have to be kept at their own respective places.

In the case of Deep Water Horizon a man bought love (home) to work. His love for exploration and digging oil led to making things from bad to worse. One has to blame him in a way because he being a executive of BP takes a wrong judgement and uses it to influence his  rig worker. Though not the controller of the rig and having no experience of rig management he takes the call. The movie revolves around a mans ambition and his desire to make profits which overrides his judgement. One should be absolutely certain to take a call. If not it can  turn into a total shitstorm is what the movie is all about. The rig eventually turned into a very big shitstorm.

If he should have striked gold it would have been a different thing unlike in this scenario it was a different tale to tell. The movie beautifully in detail shows the working of a rig and it being burnt down to pieces. The movie has a take home  message which revolves around judgement. Gambling is gambling and has no power of reasoning most of the times while doing it.

Befikre has a similar theme too. A stand up comedian makes Paris his home to make people laugh. He uses personal experiences like the show Seinfeld to get the message to his audiences. I liked the scene when he goes to the most happening club in Paris in a matter of few hours after landing. Many have women on their mind and this scene in a way proves the point. He tries hard and to his expectation it was not as easy as he thought. Luckily he meets a Indian girl and the story moves from present to past and past to present. The movie is trying to connect the dots since the origin to the end, In a nut shell eventually at a point in time they decided to break up and end it. Still there was a void which one was trying to fill up. No one at the end wants to deal with the inner subconscious thought which is not putting them in sync with the consciousness. This movie revolves around taking a decision.

If one takes a decision knowing the facts around him will be a good thing to do is what the movie is all about. When it comes to taking decisions using the help of ones consciousness,  i should be aware that not all of it taken in the right mind will work. These few lines by Jim Horning says it all

Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.

Interesting Reads: Anne Frank

One should not guess when it comes to what would Anne Frank do if she was not writing her diary. I for sure would think that she must be either blogging or being active in social network doing social things. She for sure would not have thought that she would end up famous while writing her diary during the worst period of her life. The diary reflected her innocence as she was not aware of what is going on in the real world. One if does not know his/her surroundings well will not really appreciate what is in it. As Sigmund says often writer and a poet was there before him. Very few can go in uncharted territories and beautifully write, paint or narrate it as their mind knows what they are seeing. William Shakespeare is a one of such a kind and many will definitely enjoy his work.

Human mind knows very little of the universe as told in the Melissa McCarthy Ghost Busters movie. I must agree with that. One cannot really appreciate what the world has to offer without knowing anything about it. The Diary of Anne Frank was all naivety. One being absolutely naive about the harsh realities of life writes about it. I had the book and i chose not to proceed with it for a reason. The reason was it is better to not to know any thing than to know something. One should know what was the whole thing all about. Only very few till date know what the whole thing was all about. All one can do is absorb whatever the world knows but not reflection or take a child's reflection in ones thought process.

Human mind and our consciousness is a strange thing. All of us like it or not are fooling ourselves. I firmly believe that we all are fooling ourselves. Man is tricking his own mind in believing something which is not really out there Security. All have the same pattern in their thought process Think - Feel and Act. This paradigm of thinking is not going to change or alter for any living thing on planet earth. I should not write about security after seeing what is there out there in this Dog eat Dog world. Man is tricking himself with Constructive Autosuggestions which is then embedded in his subconscious. If one starts to react after seeing what is really going on it will be very difficult for man to sustain.

Man is tricking his own mind with constructive autosuggestions just like Anne Frank. Taking any decision in such a given situation will never guarantee results. The reason i need to write about Anne Frank is because of the of recent research that sheds a different light on the tale of Anne Frank. Her tale is important as she has her own very museum in Amsterdam. A tour is given to audiences which details her life story in brief. Any current research on her life makes it very important.

The recent research is that Anne Frank may have been caught by chance and not betrayed.

Few points taken from her life which adds to the current revelation.

The Diary of a Young Girl (originally Het Achterhuis; English: The Secret Annex), which documents her life in hiding from 1942 to 1944, during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II

1. The Franks were among 300,000 Jews who fled Germany between 1933 and 1939.[

2.  Born a German national, Frank lost her citizenship in 1941 and thus became stateless.

3. In May 1940, Germany invaded the Netherlands, and the occupation government began to persecute Jews by the implementation of restrictive and discriminatory laws; mandatory registration and segregation soon followed.[14] Otto Frank tried to arrange for the family to emigrate to the United States – the only destination that seemed to him to be viable – but this possibility was blocked from June 1941, as the U.S. government was concerned that people with close relatives still in Germany could be blackmailed into becoming Nazi spies.

By May 1940, the Franks were trapped in Amsterdam by the German occupation of the Netherlands

4. As persecution of the Jewish population  increased in July 1942, the family went into hiding in some concealed rooms behind a bookcase in the building where Anne's father worked.

5. For her thirteenth birthday on 12 June 1942, Frank received a book she had shown her father in a shop window a few days earlier. Although it was an Autograph book bound with red-and-white checkered cloth  and with a small lock on the front, Frank decided she would use it as a diary and began writing in it almost immediately. In her entry dated 20 June 1942, she lists many of the restrictions placed upon the lives of the the Jewish population.

Entries from her diary

I finally realized that I must do my schoolwork to keep from being ignorant, to get on in life, to become a journalist, because that's what I want! I know I can write ..., but it remains to be seen whether I really have talent ... And if I don't have the talent to write books or newspaper articles, I can always write for myself. But I want to achieve more than that. I can't imagine living like Mother, Mrs. van Daan and all the women who go about their work and are then forgotten. I need to have something besides a husband and children to devote myself to! ...

7. Frank aspired to become a journalist, writing in her diary till Wednesday, 5 April 1944: From then until the family's arrest by the Gestapo in August 1944.

Recent research then catches on Anne Frank may have been caught by chance and not betrayed. Following their arrest, the Franks were transported to concentration camps. In October or November 1944, Anne and her sister, Margot, were transferred to concentration camps and where they died (probably of Typhus) a few months later.

Interesting Reads - Cancer

Professor Theodor Boveri from the University of Wurzburg in Germany is considered to be the first man who made the association between cancer and human chromosome in 1902. He thought that a change or change in one or more chromosome might be the starting point for the development of Cancer. It took more than half a century to substantiate his theory.

From 1902 till 1959 his theory did not catch any public eye because of hardly any ground facts to back it up. This changed in 1959 when Peter Nowell and David A Hungerford opened a new page in cancer research with the discovery of Philadelphia chromosome.

Over the many years cancer has remained a mystery to the scientific world but now we at least know that the human genome plays a significant role in the genesis of the disease. With numerous carcinogens in the environment some are prone to the development of cancer while others are not. Chromosome study of cancer cells show a marked variation in the number as well as structure of chromosome. Analysis of variety of tumour cells has revealed that certain chromosome are involved in certain cancers.

Variation in the number and structure of chromosome was seen in 1960 by Peter Nowell and David A Hungerford that discovered a small chromosome in patients with CML. This chromosome was later then called the Philadelphia chromosome. Formation of the Philadelphia chromosome involved the translocation between the long arm of chromosome 22 and long arm of chromosome 9. This results in shorter chromosome called the Philadelphia chromosome.

Chromosome carry hereditary factors or genes. Well like it or not the above theory is true. You are made up of your genes, Your gene pool is important but not very important in the sense as far i know intelligence of the respective parent cannot be inherited. I still remember the movie The Patriot in which Mel Gibson says that the children are raised of Good stock. In my opinion genes i guess it may make your children good fighters. I liked the scene when all together beat the British in a gun battle when Heath Ledger was kidnapped. For me whenever i hear of the Gorkha regiment i think few people are  born with fighting skills.. No wonder Gorkhas are preferred world over in respective armies. England for sure knows that and has its own Gorkha regiment. I guess makes it one of the many European nations to have Asian fighters, In short born with fighting skills can land you a job in the army.

Everything has good and bad  embedded in it. In short if one can be a good fighter because of his family one can even die early because of his family. The theory of Theodor Boveri makes absolute sense today when we come across familial cancers.

1. Several First or Second degree relatives show a common cancer. eg breast, ovary, bowel and endometrial cancer. Most of these cancers occur at specific sites but there are some families in which these cancers occur at different sites in various members of the family or at more than one individual site. Anyways such families are referred to as familial cancer predisposing syndrome. Cancer in the family is definitely not a good sign for the future progeny which makes it very clear that you are made up of your genes.

2. Few familial cancers occurring at specific sites Breast and Ovary  - Chromosome 17Q -  Gene BRCA. Adenomatous Polyposis - Chromosome 5q - Gene APC.

3. Apart from that population  genetics puts one at risk for various life style disorders.

After seeing this i guess the concept of Eugenics should make a strong stand. It was introduced by F Galton in 1883. One can establish best characters in a population by selective breeding. However social cultural and ethical problems challenged the Human Eugenic movement. There are also difficulties posed even if one tries it. Selection of characters to be promoted in a population which determines the genetic diversity.

As a lay man and not a expert in Genetics  so far Man has completed the Human Genome Project in which chromosomes and genes are thoroughly studied. I feel that over the course of time one will eventually figure out to reverse the cell cycle in a cancer patient.

Exorcising The Ghost Of Bofors - Interesting Reads

I have come across this article which briefly explains the current scenario of the Indian army's relationship with Artillery. Many over the Globe advocate for Make Love and Not War. Altough War has been and will be inevitable, i guess after reading this article one may think decision makers in India take this line seriously. Take for eg the Augusta Westland Chopper Case Scam which has been floating around the corner.

Many of such cases come and go. I got a chance to hear Josy Joseph and Siddharth Bhatia editors and journalist of newspapers talk about their experience in Journalism. As per them many of the stories are buried alive fearing defamation suits. Many have to go through quite a hassle to get the real story out and it has to be tailor made accordingly from  time to time.

In early 2013, an Indian national parliamentary investigation began into allegations of bribery and corruption involving several senior officials and a helicopter manufacturer AgustaWestland surrounding the purchase of a new fleet of helicopters. The scandal has been referred to as the Chopper scam or Chopper gate by elements of the media and popular press.

Talking about India's relationship with Artillery i found few points interesting from this article which has a connection to the current story.

In short it is Bribes that share a past with the History of Indian Artillery and its relevance to date.

1. Artillery proved its lethality without crossing the LOC on October 29, 2016. Artillery guns issued by Bofors 7FH - 77B made such a thing happen. One may  think of military strength after reading this line. Altough Bofors scam has a dark history which connects Indian Artillery to date.

2. Swedish Bofors AB was accused of paying 64 crores to Indian middleman in the year 1986 to swing its contract. Bofors scandal topled Rajiv Gandhi government in 2 years.

3. Bofors contract of 1.2 billion dollars was Indias largest defense deals in its history.Light of attainment of the defense contract via bribes got it blacklisted.

4. Plans of military modernization began in the year 2006 and subsequently corruption stalked the headlines again. This time it was gunmakers from Singapore. South Africa, Germany and Israel that got blacklisted as they tried the same route  as Bofors to get the contract.

5.The movie Rang De Basanti Higlighted this topic in its own way. It will be 30 years now since the Bofors case in 1986. Over the period the country is able to come up with its very own version of the artillery gun Dhanush in the year 2010. Dhanush will replace the existing Bofors by the next decade. Apart from the Make in India moment with Dhanush , mordernisation plan in Indian artillery has taken 30 years to usher in a new dawn after a couple of defense seals signed,

6. Series of scams, scandals and new pet project of Modernization of Indian Military with 50 K crore armor is the next big thing. As per modernisation it has plans to introduce 2,700 Howitzers from 400 or few in 1986 acquired from Bofors. New artillery will equip 235 regiments with 18 guns in each.

7. Goal is to see modernization plan come in full effect by 2027.

All one can think is so far things have been good in paper and will be. One needs to think if such a thing can be ever possible with its past always coming to haunt.  Will they really be able to exorcise the ghost is a thing to see and not read.

Bofors and new Era of Indian artillery from now on ..............

The Story of God - Morgan Freeman

Man is what  he thinks all day long - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Well in today's world it is believed that Man thinks a lot about sex. There have been suggestions that a man thinks at least once about it over a span of few minutes.

My reference for the given fact.

Researchers learned that, on average, men think about sex 19 times a day. The average women thinks about sex 10 times a day. If a man did think about sex every seven seconds, his number would be 8,000+ times a day, just during his 16 waking hours, according to WebMD.

So this has been today's scenario. What about the ones who lived thousands of years ago. Many of us share the same story of Adam and Eve in Paradise. They would have been doing the same until GOD interferes and introduces himself to them. It is been told that GOD has introduced himself to his creation rather than the opposite. I guess since his introduction and bringing the serpent along with him which i like to think as GODS favourite this world has been fixated about GOD. I guess if he would have not introduced himself to us we should have been living like animals. Animals as far as i am considered would not have so many denominations of faith that man has come up with. One will find it tough to keep up with the number of branches in a particular faith and  the denominations in it.

Talking about denominations i have read a interesting story about a female who travels to Switzerland along  with a bunch of expats. She talks about her memories in this trip which has a lot to resonate in the real world. During one of their dinner conversation they strike a cord over meat. Chinese prefer dog meat and Swiss horse meat. Swiss consider dogs as their pets and Chinese horse as their pets. Chinese don't like to be name called by the Western expats and expects people to understand that all have their differences and one should live with it. Eventually she realizes each have their own preferences /individual choices and one does not liked to be judged. Well so far this has been the case and man is living with each other fighting and sorting out differences. Like it or not the whole difference in  opinion was made by GOD. If that asshole had to reveal himself why cant he do it for all colour, creed and tribe. He or she whoever revealed himself to his chosen few and show them the way deliberately wants to make our lives difficult. If air is for all why cant his ways be for all. He loves and enjoys the confusion he created and yet expects people to believe in a placebo like GOD.

When i compare God with a Placebo i seriously mean it. I have some evidence to suggest that he/she is nothing more than a placebo. If he/she  would have really cared for the good of mankind this would not be the world Man would inherit. Unfortunately people have not realized it and still keep doing the things they do. As i like to put it GOD speaks of himself through man. Religion is concocted by Man through GOD. There are enough evidences to suggest that as in Muhammad for Islam, Abraham/Moses/Jacob for Jews and Jesus for Christians. All monotheistic religions have man in the middle as common ground to be a facilitator. We don't speak of aliens living in Planet Orion to be our GOD. He is putting his word through man and craves for the attention he deems necessary. He wants and makes man to believe in a placebo like him. He is the biggest "FAKE DRUG LORD" known to man. Though i am supposed  have respect for the man/woman above,  i still believe that i should be a critique.

On the note of being a critique and me collecting evidences, i hope nothing in it should be taken as a offense. My rant should not make him angry because this is what he usually does for a living. Phillipus Paracelsus a Swiss physician made a obvious scientific fact "Whether the object of your faith be real or false you will nevertheless obtain the same effect. If a person believes in a Gods statue as believing in God himself he/she will get the same effect. Faith will always produce some wonders. His views were entertained by Pietro Pomponazzi, Italian physician. He came to a conclusion that if bones of any skeleton were put in a Saints bones and if introduced to a sick who believes in it will most of the time receive beneficial effects as he believed that it were veritable relics.

For me as a person this is not enough evidence to prove my point. Taking it as a rule of Thumb all i can conclude is that God works in mysterious ways. I need to be diplomatic and not poke/finger the big fellow. One should not mess with the Gods. Well anyways i have taken the liberty to dance in this tune after seeing the Morgan Freeman documentary "Story of God." After his investigation i guess he should have come to a conclusion that he is just Morgan leaving the Freeman out of it. The Big fella is here to stay and poke his nose in any business he feels fit. Take for example the confusion and wars that have come from his name in spite of man knowing that 3 monotheistic denominations share the same faith.

As i like to quote Sigmund Freud now If one knows the true meaning of life he should be mentally sick. The show dealt with many themes that i guess in a whole revolved around the Meaning and purpose of Mans existence. The documentary is a must watch and one should keep on watching it when confronted with the confusion of GOD. I am among the many who is confused when it comes to GOD. I had a chance to hear a English Economist John Gray give his insight on Religion. All he could come up with is that  He does not believe in anything. After seeing the documentary one has no other choice than too share the same opinion.

Inspite of everything around religion one should not be sure on any given thing if not known. Abrahamic religions so far for me is nothing but art. Its varies a lot  among people who comprehend it. Religion so far is Darkness. The reason it is dark is because no one will be ever sure of its impact it has on man.

Points taken from the Documentary to always keep in mind.

1. Moses saw God in a bush. Buddha sought enlightenment under a tree. Muhammad saw Allah in a mountain Common link of God is the same man of flesh and blood.

2. Single God concept origin was in Stonehenge, England a 5000 yr monument.
1000 yrs after its origin it was a Egyptian man that worshipped the Sun. Akhenaten.
Christians Muslims and Jews worship the same single God. Half the people on the planet can trace their God to Jerusalem. It was here 3000 yrs ago Monotheism took root.

3. Genesis was written in the Jewish/Muslim world 2500 years ago. Garden of Eden is where the presence of God is felt. One centre to unite these religions is Jerusalem. Holy Sepulchre church is regarded to be the burial of Adam. Chapel of Adam is in Golgotha. Adam  means man in Hebrew , Dam means  blood in Hebrew, Adama means land in Hebrew.

4. Judeo Christian concept is 2500 years old and is being used currently.

5. Altough Mayan civilization dates longer than Judeo-Christian/Muslim faiths. Scientist have dated the universe 14 billion years ago. Creation myth is difficult to comprehend.

6. Experiments have shown that you tend to increase the activity in the frontal lobe while praying. Atheist unfortunately were not able to get the same result. Regardless of what our practice is you must buy into Experiencing god. Experiencing GOD changes us from the inside. God is so many things to so many people. There is a little bit of god in all of us. God in me is my Core, and the best version of me. I have to strive to be the real me.

7. As per research the tendency of evil comes down significantly after knowing that we are being watched. Startle response is much higher in predictable than non predictable conditions.

8. Birds don't fly they are flown. Fish don't swim they are swam. Sometimes it is important not to control life but ride the wave of life.

9. One needs to transform the human mind. We are capable of much more than we believe we are. By Concentrating and putting your mind on what is needed one can change the way we look at things around us.There is more to life than meets the eye.

10. Humans should accept that there is something more that connects us. Miracle gives us hope and creates reality out of possibility.

Daydream

The mind could be divided into three systems: the conscious mind, subconscious mind, and the unconscious mind. As part of this theory, Freud believed the mind was composed of three parts: the id, ego, and superego. The preconscious mind is an important part of this process. The preconscious contains thoughts that are unconscious but can be easily recalled.

I have a story that deals with the preconscious state. Preconscious as i put it is one who knows it will always know it. It is a fact that registered in the unconscious that can be easily recalled. I have read an interesting story that deals with the preconscious state of affairs.

Ian Burkhart broke his neck diving into a wave in 2010. He had no idea 4 years later that he would make history as as the first quadriplegic in the US to regain control of his limbs using his own thoughts. This guy has made efficient use of his preconscious state of mind. Story goes that he enrolled in Ohio State University for an experimental study. His injury had severed the communication pathway between the motor cortex in his brain and the muscles in his limb. In the experiment a small microchip smaller than the size of a pea was placed in the motor cortex which controls the hand. The chip was connected via a computer to an electrode studded sleeve on Burkharts arm that stimulated his muscles. His thoughts alone had a new bypass to his hand. I call the brain a Pandora's box and a lot is to be known.

Well one can have access to the conscious, subconscious, preconscious but not the unconscious. I seriously believe that if i can get access to my unconscious most of the work is then done. How much of a dream can one recall. I like to daydream voluntarily as many for sure. My daydreams have a vivid quality unlike the dreams at sleep which i can hardly recall. Lately i have been day dreaming a lot and am comparing it to the recall with my night dreams. Unfortunately i have made no breakthrough in recalling my night dreams.. I seriously envy those who get clear day dreams on their own when they are awake. There have been stories that one has predicted a war breaking out and declined taking a job in the given area believing his dream. Believe it or his dream worked and thanked heavens for saving his life. Sounds like Joan of Arc although it is true and many vouch for it with their life. I believe few have the gift of getting such a dream and i take them seriously with less doubt.

Well i have been going through a piece which talks about what a dream can tell about you as a person.

1. Creative people are more likely to dream of unusual settings dealing with obstacles in the natural world that they cant get around.

2. Conservatives have mundane realistic dreams and liberals have more bizarre dreams.

3. Frequent nightmares suggest future heart attacks and irregular heart beats.

4. Dream including a monster, stranger, giant tidal wave could indicate that you are afraid to deal with something in life.

5. Divorced people have dramatic dreams about their old relationships.

6. Ones who worship frequently recall having fewer dreams.

7. Type A personalities have disturbing dreams than laid back folks.

8. Depressed people start dreaming much sooner than others as early as 45 minutes after starting falling asleep.

9. The closer a person is to passing more likely they are to dream about loved ones.

10. Apart from that drugs cause bad dreams which include antidepressants, antibiotics, statins and some antihistamines. This should not be taken into account i guess.

Well i strongly believe in dreams. Lately i had a vivd dream (non -voluntary) after many years  about a female who i met in college. I dont know how much does  that mean. If i have to look at it with facts it means nothing. End of the day it is the big data and statistics that determines the credibility of a dream. The Bible has a other story to say with Joseph, Pharoh and his dreams. All Joseph had to do interpret those dreams without stats which was acted upon. In real world one unfortunately cant act, either it means everything or nothing.

Like it or not Human brain for now is to stay a mystery !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
