Blast From The Past: Human Genome

 

 

The International Human Genome Sequencing Consortium officially announced the successful completion of the Human Genome Project on April 14, 2003, more than two years ahead of schedule. This landmark 13-year effort mapped and sequenced 99% of the human genome's 3 billion base pairs, providing a foundational blueprint for biological and medical research.
