Blast From The Past: Murder

 


 

On April 11, 1945, the U.S. Third Army’s 4th and 6th Armored Divisions liberated Buchenwald concentration camp near Weimar, Germany. Approaching American troops discovered over 21,000 survivors in desperate conditions, including about 1,000 Jewish children. The camp resistance had already seized control from fleeing SS guards before American forces fully secured the site
