Nils Ragnar Eugène Antoni, a Swedish pathologist, described two characteristic tissue patterns within schwannomas
Swedish physician who became doctor of medicine and associate professor of neurology at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden.
Antoni A (cellular, palisading nuclei forming Verocay bodies)
Antoni B (looser, less cellular areas)
José Verocay (1910)
Earlier, Verocay described the palisading arrangement of nuclei (now called Verocay bodies) in these tumors.
