The posterolateral tract of Lissauer (also called Lissauer’s tract or dorsolateral fasciculus)
The tract is named after the German neurologist and anatomist:
- Heinrich Lissauer
Lissauer’s tract (Pain And Temperature)
The tract carries small-diameter fibers (A-delta and C fibers)
These fibers are involved in pain and temperature sensation
After traveling in Lissauer’s tract, they synapse in the substantia gelatinosa
