 Miotics: Pilocarpine 

Pilocarpine was isolated in 1874 from the Brazilian jaborandi plant by Schmiedeberg and Harnack, became one of the first drugs used to treat glaucoma, and remains in use today as a classic parasympathomimetic agent.
