Fake blood using iron + thiocyanate reaction (deep red color)

This reaction produces a blood-red complex often used in chemistry demonstrations.

Chemicals used

• Ferric chloride (FeCl₃)

• Potassium thiocyanate (KSCN)

Result

• Forms iron thiocyanate complex
