Keratoconus: Scissoring Reflex

 

Keratoconus 

Keratoconus was first described by Burchard Mauchart in 1748, but detailed clinical features became more defined in the 19th and 20th centuries.

 The scissoring reflex became recognized as a key diagnostic clue with the development of the retinoscope in the late 19th century (credited to Jack Copeland and others).
