World Tofu Day

                                                                       History Of Tofu

Tofu is one of the world's oldest plant-based foods, with a history spanning more than 2,000 years. It originated in ancient China and gradually spread throughout East and Southeast Asia before becoming a staple ingredient worldwide.

The earliest records suggest that tofu was invented during the Chinese Han dynasty (206 BCE–220 CE). It is traditionally attributed to Liu An, a nobleman and scholar who lived around 179–122 BCE. According to legend, Liu An accidentally discovered tofu while experimenting with soybeans and mineral salts.
