Lentivirus Mediated Cancer

                                                                              Lentivirus

Animal Models:

Lentiviral vectors are being used to create animal models of pancreatic cancer, where specific mutations in genes can be introduced, such as KRASG12D and p53, to mimic human pancreatic cancer.

Imaging: Lentiviruses can be engineered to express fluorescent proteins, like red fluorescent protein (RFP), in pancreatic cancer cells. This allows researchers to visualize and track tumor growth and metastasis in living animals using non-invasive imaging techniques.

 Mutagenesis:

Lentiviral vectors can be used to introduce mutations into pancreatic cancer cells, allowing researchers to study the role of specific genes in cancer development and progression

 Gene Editing:

Lentiviral vectors can be combined with CRISPR-Cas9 technology to enable precise and targeted editing of the genome in pancreatic cancer cells, both in vitro and in vivo.
