Theosophy = Divine Wisdom
Theosophy is an esoteric movement and philosophy founded in 1875 by Helena Blavatsky and Henry Steel Olcott, focusing on "divine wisdom" that unites religion, philosophy, and science.
Based in Chennai, Adyar, India, it promotes comparative studies of faiths, and investigation of natural laws, drawing heavily from Eastern traditions like Buddhism and Hinduism
White Lotus Day is observed every year on May 8 in memory of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, who died on May 8, 1891. It is primarily celebrated by members of the Theosophical Society.
The day gets its name from the white lotus flower, a symbol of purity, spiritual awakening, and enlightenment in many Eastern traditions. According to tradition, an unusual number of white lotuses bloomed at the Society’s headquarters in Chennai one year after Blavatsky’s death.
In her final wishes, Blavatsky requested that friends gather annually on the anniversary of her death and read passages from: Bhagavad Gita.
