Scarpas Ganglion

Antonio Scarpa was an Italian anatomist and professor who died in 1832 and had the head of his corpse removed and exhibited in the Institute of Anatomy. The head is still exhibited at the University History Museum of the University of Pavia.

Scarpa’s ganglion is named after the Italian anatomist Antonio Scarpa (1752–1832), who made important contributions to the anatomy of the ear and nervous system.
