This led to numerous Jewish settlers  arriving in Cochin


Jews settled in Kochi built a Jew Town in 12 th and 13 th centuries



Oldest synagogue in Cochin 1344




White Jews settled in the Cochin region in the 16 th century

Religious persecution  in Spain and Portugal led to their expulsion
