1. We enjoy feeling a certain moral superiority over others. Outrage gives us satisfaction because we feel we are engaging in a Moral Crusade. It is not that our views have become more radical, but our attitude towards people we disagree with has become more rabid.
2. More you connect with disparate people and show them differing points of view the angrier they become. They usually think that such views can break the notion that one likes to live in.
3. Information is pruned not for validity, importance or factual accuracy but for emotional response.
