S2F10
Disulfur Decafluoride
S2F10 was considered a potential chemical warfare pulmonary pathogen during World War II because it does not cause lacrimation or skin irritation, and there are few warnings for exposure. Disulfur decafluoride is a colorless gas or liquid with an SO2-like odor. It is about four times more toxic than phosgene. Its toxicity is thought to be caused by its disproportionation in the lung to SF4, which reacts with inert SF6 and water to form sulfite and hydrofluoric acid.
