Pulmonary Vagal C Fibers
Pulmonary vagal C fibres are unmyelinated sensory nerve fibres located in the lungs and airways.
Chemical or inflammatory stimuli activate pulmonary C fibres.
Sensory impulses travel through the vagus nerve.
Signals reach the nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS) in the medulla.
Respiratory and cardiovascular reflexes are produced.
