M Cells

Human Brain And Lateral Geniculate Nucleus Of Thalamus

In visual neuroscience, M cells (Magnocellular cells) are large neurons in the magnocellular layer othe lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN) of the thalamus. They form the magnocellular visual pathway, which is specialized for detecting movement, rapid changes in brightness and visual information over time.
