Panela water is prepared by dipping pieces of panela in water and stirring sporadically until completely dissolved.
The drink is served hot or cold, and often in Chile , Colombia , Ecuador and Peru a dash of lemon or lime is added If it is consumed hot, sometimes a little milk or a piece of cheese is added
