Nobel Prize In Physiology/Medicine 1914
 
Its history traces back to 1907, when Robert Bárány, an Austrian otologist, discovered that irrigating the ear canal with warm or cold water produced predictable eye movements (nystagmus).
 
His work earned him the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1914.
